Hey, I'm going to move the discussion to here since this will be a bit personal. I really hate that you're getting this repeated notification and want to get rid of it. So, let's try this:

• Open FMenu preferences
• Choose the Diagnostics tab
• Check all boxes
• Click on the Open Console.app button
• Watch the Console. You will see something like:

2007-02-26 16:54:29.316 FMenu[308] got upcoming events

2007-02-26 16:54:35.319 FMenu[308] got friend profiles

2007-02-26 16:54:35.412 FMenu[308] <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><friends_get_response xmlns="http://api.facebook.com/1.0/"

....

• Wait for repeated notification to show up
• Go back to the prefs window and uncheck boxes
• Go back to the Console and copy everything after the last "got friend profiles" line (i.e. the most recent one).
• Go to my talk page, click the + at the top, and paste the text you copied from the Console.
• After it, tell me the name of the person for whom you're getting repeating updates so that I can more quickly locate the problem.

That's all! I really appreciate your help with this, and maybe this will finally put an end to this. And just so you know, I'm not seeing this problem at all, which is why it's so hard for me to fix.
